Training Facilities and
Services
Upon
arriving at Horse Haven Farm, a
200'x100' outdoor arena welcomes you. This arena is
available for your use. Behind the barn,
a 50' odyssey horse walker and a 50' round pen are
available for exercise and training respectively.
Many factors
determine how long it takes
before your untrained horse can be ridden. In
general, a horse is ready to carry a rider when the
horse is 2 to 2 1/2 years old. Most horses will receive 30 to 60 days
of greenbreak training to understand basic commands
and to be comfortable with a rider on its back. Training
begins in the round pen with conditioned response
training techniques or soft touch training.
